Our Superintendent
Eastmont School Board is pleased to welcome Spencer Taylor as Eastmont’s Interim Superintendent. A proud Eastmont alumnus, Spencer brings an impressive breadth of instructional and leadership expertise to this pivotal role in our district.
Spencer’s journey through Eastmont began as a student at Kenroy Elementary and continued through Sterling Middle School, Eastmont Jr. High, and Eastmont High School. He credits his development as a student and individual to the exceptional teachers, advisors, and coaches who inspired him to reach his potential. His involvement in band, athletics, and serving as ASB President played a central role in shaping his character and leadership skills.
Spencer Taylor brings a diverse range of instructional and leadership experiences spanning Preschool through 12th grade all across the state. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree at Seattle Pacific University he began his career teaching math and social studies at Wenatchee HS, Westside HS, and Foothills MS for seven years. He then transitioned to North Central Educational Service District (NCESD 171) where he worked with teachers and leaders across the region in teaching math, using technology, and implementation of the school improvement process. During this time he earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction from City University and Principal’s Certification from Central Washington University. He later served as the Principal of Allen K-8 School in the Burlington-Edison School District.
In 2007, Spencer returned to Eastmont as Principal of Grant Elementary School, where his leadership earned him the Distinguished Principal Award for North Central Washington. In 2013 he was promoted to Executive Director of Elementary Education for the school district and remained in this position until being appointed by the School Board to serve as Interim Superintendent.
For those who know Spencer, they know his passion for helping students succeed, his support for staff to do their best, and his commitment to the community to have schools they can be proud of. His personal ties to Eastmont run deep; both his mother and mother-in-law were longtime paraprofessionals in the district, and they instilled in him a legacy of service and support for students and staff.
Spencer is married to his high school sweetheart—also an Eastmont graduate—and is the proud father of three adult children and a son-in-law, and grandfather to an adorable granddaughter. He also enjoys time with Huck, the family’s beloved goldendoodle.
